Our rising U11 boys and girls recreation teams participate in the Suburban Friendship League (SFL) for league play, and recently the Crossover League in Fall 2020.
SFL League: During the spring and fall seasons, the SFL provides scheduling services to over 520 teams representing almost 25 different clubs. The SFL divides its leagues into two divisions. Adjustments to the teams assigned to the two divisions are made at the end of each season, based on win/loss records, to assure that there is a level of parity for competitive games the following season.
An additional bonus to playing through the SFL is the season-ending tournament. Teams are seeded into small groupings according to an SFL formula that adjusts their season standings to account for points given for forfeits and other technical issues, giving every team an opportunity to play against teams of similar ability and to win.
Crossover League: In the fall of 2020, due to the cancellation of the SFL league, Sterling Soccer, Herndon, Great Fall Reston (GFR), and McLean created the Crossover League to arrange casual but competitive weekend matches between our respective clubs.
